What tarnish actually is
Tarnish is chemistry, not carelessness. The copper and silver in ordinary alloys react with oxygen, sulphur and the salt in your own sweat. The result is that grey-black film that no amount of rubbing truly reverses — the metal's surface has literally changed. Humid Indian summers and monsoon months accelerate it dramatically.
How we stop it
